Personal

My name is Lasse Nielsen. I live in a small house in the south-west of Denmark. The main purpose for this website is to show off my portfolio, aswell as serving as a sandbox for generic website development. Okay. If we start off with me. As mentioned, my name is Lasse Nielsen. I'm 14 years old. Despite my age I think you could categorize me as a real geek. Why? I'll tell you.
I have experience in level design (Valve Hammer Editor), website development (HTML and CSS) and graphics design (Photoshop).
My initial interest in computers started at the age of 6. Or well interest might be enough said but I definitely enojyed my hours of playing Commander Keen.
That later accelerated, and along with the rest of the world I started playing Doom and Quake.
Then consoles like the Nintendo 64 and the Playstation came out and I thrilled myself playing GoldenEye 64 for hours at a time.
Times have definitely changed - nowadays I won't even touch a console anymore :).
I've now become a hardcore geek. My computer is running Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP. I usually run my Windows partition as I haven't familiarized myself with linux that much yet.
You're probably thinking: "Wow, this guy doesn't have a life!" - but I do have a life other than computers.
I'm a yellow-belter in the martial art of judo, I have a snake (and am really interested in reptiles in general) and I find history, especially historical warfare interesting. One of the subjects that interest me the most is actually American history, including the revolutionary and civil wars.
Even so, computers is what takes way most of my time, and you can usually find me hanging out in IRC, designing something in Photoshop or as a recently-acquired interest, coding a website or the like.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

The site

This site was developed for the gecko engine and may not work on others. I won't really care though, the site is standard compliant and validates as xhtml.
For the IE users: do yourselves a favour and get Firefox! It's faster, more efficient and it's much prettier than IE ever was and will be (if Microsoft continues to keep up the way they always have).
My goal when developing this website was to have a nice, reader-friendly online portfolio.
I think I succeded pretty well, considering I've used a mere two days building it now. The base of it was done in two hours, along with the first content.
This site's my baby, my first ever project I've done completely by myself and I'm rather proud of it. When I've learnt it, I'll implement php into it. I should be able to do that within a few months.
Until then, HTML suffices. Be sure to check out my other webdesign projects.
I'd like to thank you for checking out my site. I hope you like the design as much as I do. Oh yeah, if this page doesn't look properly, get Firefox.
